Breakfast / Brunch are pretty much the most important meal of the day!

Whether you’re an early or a late starter, you’re fresh or you’re hungover, or its your second or third meal of the day, nothing beats a killer coffee and eggs done your way!!

When it comes to “Brunch Spots”, Queer hub and my alternative home/office/hang out, Dalston Superstore, has it down!

Served til 4pm on a weekday and 3pm on a weekend catering for a wide range of timetables, DSS offers: EGGS, BACON, SOURDOUGH TOAST (so fancy), AVOCADO, SMOKED SALMON, BLACK PUDDING (oooh controversial), and SAUSAGES!

Not to forget the chef’s incredible BRUNCH SAUCE!!! (I’m not quite sure what is in this but it’s a treat).

Brunch here starts at a very reasonable £4.50 and extras are a mere £1 or £2 more offering an affordable breakfast even for the hungry who want it all. Meals are presented attractively and fill the plate with colour. They are NOT greasy and if you make the right choices very healthy, providing you with a proper healthy queer start to the day.

In comparison to other east end brunches, DSS is high in my league table; especially if you compare it to the measly, overdone eggs with a scalp flake of avocado and 1 slice of bread (not toast as advertised), that had been pathetically blotted in tomato puree and a spit of tobasco sat lonely and ungarnished in the middle of a vast beige void of plate that I paid a whopping £7.50 for at “Forge and Co.” on Shoreditch High Street last week. (PLEASE NOTE, DON’T PISS PEOPLE OFF WITH SHIT BREAKFAST, it’s just cruel!)

What really makes Dalston Superstore a great brunch spot though is the Staff! They really go the extra mile! Today I received the best of welcomes from manager Caitlin Gresham and the boys behind the bar and in the Kitchen.

Furthermore, came utter pampering from the one and only Craig Worral, who bought me flat cola after hearing that my stomach was unsettled. Anyone that goes this far to serve a customer deserves good karma and gifts from the universe in their day.

Dalston Superstore, not only do you end my nights sweaty and glittery but you start my days strong too!
