REAL LIFE SHIT!

Today, London waves a fond farewell to superstar DJ and Tzuji brand owner Larry Tee as he flies to his new nest in Berlin.

Larry, famous for birthing the Club Kids and Disco 2000 in New York’s, Limelight club as well as writing “Ru-Paul’s” platinum selling song “Supermodel – You’d Better Work”, moved to London 5 years ago and has had a hugely positive impact on club culture and many individuals since gracing our land.

He helped to re-invigorate the club kid culture here in London with his parties such as: “Super Electric Party Machine” and “Wut?Club”. A loyal following of spritely young fashion freaks and cool creatives were given a home to throw looks, mix with trannies and catwalk their nights away to Larry’s signature sound, which he owns the term in the dictionary for: “Electro-clash”. Larry gifted us with fresh new DJ’s whom he mentored and are now established names on the scene such as the incredible and gorgeous “Anthony McGinley – AttackAttackAttack”.

On top of this Larry was one of the first queers to move into Haggerston helping it to become “Faggerston”: the newest Queer Mecca in London, escaping the demise of Shoreditch and near enough to Dalston for us to find.

Larry has written for many of our most influential artists without us even knowing such as: Amanda Lepore, Scissor Sisters, Santigold, Peaches and Afrojack and we truly owe him a huge thank-you and a big hug for all his hard work and positive direction. Not only has he been great for our music and culture, he has been a true friend and guide to so many, helping stuck creatives out of holes and setting a loving example for many to follow.

More recently he even launched an entire clothing line, Tzuji, so we all had swag to wear!

Larry is taking his Line and his mad DJ skills to a new city that is sure to welcome this absolute legend with open arms.

Larry, Artpornblog loves you. (Not to mention we wouldn’t exist without your guidance and motivation). Never stop being you! And I won’t stop being me.

We’ll see you in Berlin when the government has kicked us all out for being too exciting and fun!

All the best!

Ted Rogers “Artpornblog”
